Chichester Hampers has been designed and established by Gillian Drew and Joseph Jordan. We both have the pleasure of living in this beautiful village of  Woolacombe.

We would like to share with you a brief  history of  Woolacombe and the Chichester connection.

 

We are both passionate about locally made and sourced products and we wanted our hampers to reflect the local connections.

 

The name Chichester Hampers is inspired by Lady Rosalie Amelia Chichester whose family, until her passing in 1949, owned a majority of Woolacombe’s land and estates including its stunning two and a half mile golden beach for 800 years.  In 1890 Parade House was built on the Esplanade for Lady Chichester as a summer residence, which to this day still stands as one of the most spectacular properties in Woolacombe.

As a result of the Chichester family building and owning many properties in Woolacombe most of our delicious products enjoyed in our hampers are prepared in the very houses that Lady Chichester’s family built and owned. 

We are equally passionate about preserving our beautiful surroundings and marine life. We have therefore committed to preparing the hampers completely plastic free.
